Alexandre Reymond is Full Professor at University of Lausanne and the director of the Center for Integrative Genomics. He leads a state-of-the art molecular genetics laboratory based at the Center for Integrative Genomics, University of Lausanne (UNIL). His group has been developing research on the functional impact of genome structural changes, providing initial evidence that chromosomal rearrangements shape tissue transcriptomes on a global scale and thus represent a substantial source for within-species phenotypic variation.

Maria Isabel Melaragno is Full Professor at Universidade Federal de São Paulo and leads a research group, based at Genetics Division, from Structural and Functional Biology Postgraduation Program, since 1990. She has been focusing her studies on chromosomal rearrangements, such as deletions in chromosome 22, balanced translocations, and their implications in human diseases. These studies are providing a better comprehension of the role of gene variations and the molecular mechanisms in the formation of cytogenomic rearrangements.
